Grade Point Average is by far the thing that most high schoolers stress about, especially because they think it is the most important aspect of their high school resume, in terms of getting accepted to colleges, but truth be told, it is actually not the most important one.
Nonethless, GPA (weighted or unweighted) determines quite a few things. The weighted GPA is essentially a number that shows high school counselours and colleges how well you are doing on your classes, and the weighted one actually counts the dual enrollment, Advanced Placement, and Honor classes, while the weighted one only counts you core classes, or the math, science, reading, and social studies classes.
